About Dave Read

ReadWebCo.com is owned by Dave Read, a resident of Lenox, MA, who moved to the Berkshires in 1981 when he accepted a job teaching English at a residential school for emotionally-disturbed adolescents. Besides teaching and human services, Read’s work experience includes journalism, sales, and public relations. He created his first website in 1997, NewBerkshire.com, an online magazine that primarily published reviews of performances at Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow, and the various theatre festivals in the Berkshires.

Dave Read is a graduate of Mt. Assumption Institute (now Seton Catholic H. S.), Plattsburgh, NY, and the State University of New York at Oswego; he also attended Boston University and Western New England School of Law. A native of Oswego, NY, Read serves on the Board of Directors of BerkshiresJazz, Inc.; is a member of the St. Ann Parish Council, and a past member of the Pittsfield Irish Sister City Committee.
